Who We Are

Wilhelm Berger established WIBERG GmbH in 1947 in the Austrian Alps, offering sausage producers ready to use seasonings with consistent flavour quality. Over the next years, WIBERG Gmbh relocated their head office to Salzburg, Austria. Production of blended products and sausage casings is done in Salzburg and Freilassing, Germany. Marcus Winkler, grandson of Wilhelm, runs WIBERG Gmbh today.

In 1987, Richard Welzel founded WIBERG Corporation in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. A sausage-maker with years of experience in the food industry, he expanded the WIBERG concept into North America. In addition, he started Wiberg Equipment Sales, a division of WIBERG Corporation, to handle a full line of new and refurbished food processing equipment.

In 1997, WIBERG Corporation moved their head office and manufacturing plant to a new 90,000 sq.-ft. facility in Oakville, Ontario, Canada to better service our customer's needs and expand our grinding and blending capabilities.

To better meet the needs of our customers in North America, WIBERG Corporation opened offices in Vancouver in 1997 and Los Angeles in 2001.
